Call for Posters:
- The organizers of the 50th Annual Binghamton Geomorphology Symposium invite submissions of abstracts for posters that address the theme, “From the Past to the Future: 50 Years of Binghamton Geomorphology.” Poster abstracts will be published in the conference program and the poster session will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
- Students are especially encouraged to present their geomorphology-related research, especially those whose relate to advancing geomorphic research. A reduced registration fee is offered to students, with the lowest fee offered to those presenting posters. Students presenting posters are also eligible for a limited number of travel stipends.
Abstract format:
- Please limit abstracts to under 350 words. Abstracts should include the purpose of your work, the central research question addressed, a brief description of your methods, and the findings and implications of your work.
Graphical Abstract:
- A Graphical Abstract is a single, concise, pictorial and visual summary of the main findings of the article. This could either be the concluding figure from the article or a figure that is specially designed for the purpose, which captures the content of the article.
- Specifications: For ease of browsing, the Graphical Abstract should have a clear start and end, preferably “reading” from top to bottom or left to right. Please provide a .tif image using a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Poster dimensions:
- Posters should be no larger than 36 inches wide by 48 inches long.
Deadlines:
- Poster abstracts accepted through Friday, August 9th, 2019
- Final decision on abstract submission: Friday, August 23rd, 2019
By submitting, participants understand that their written and graphical abstracts will be shared on the BGS website for 3 years after the conference.
