About MSU Denver SCAMS

We are the Metropolitan State University of Denver‘s Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society. Many of us are meteorology majors or minors in our meteorology program, but some of us are just weather enthusiasts.  Join us at our next meeting to enjoy weather discussions and learn about field trips to TV stations, the National Weather Service, the ice core lab, to weather research airplanes, and more.  We also have several distinguished lecturers come speak to our group.  We have fun forecasting contests, including one for the first snowfall.  Sometimes we visit schools to get K-12 students interested in coming to MSU Denver for our meteorology program.  Sometimes we just help each other with our calculus, physics, chemistry, or dynamics homework!

This year’s officers are Tyler Croan, Andrew Schwartz, Dwight Blanche, and Brandon Thorne.  This year’s faculty advisor is Professor Keah Schuenemann.
