Dear Algebra, Please stop asking us to find your X. She’s not coming back and don’t ask Y.

If I had a dollar for every time algebra has helped me, I’d have X dollars.

What if algebra teachers are really pirates, and they are using us to find the X.

“Only in math problems can you buy 60 cantaloupes and nobody asks what the heck is wrong with you.” Charles Shultz

“Algebra is about constants and variables and relationships between them. If numbers are soldiers, algebra sets the rules of engagement.” Clifford A. Pickover, A Passion for Mathematics: Numbers, Puzzles, Madness, Religion and the Quest for Reality, Wiley, 2005.
