Olivier Dudas<\/a>, Carolina Vallejo<\/a>, and Mandi Schaeffer Fry<\/a> were planning a summer school for young researchers on the topic of Representations of Finite Groups at the Centro Internacional de Encuentros Matem\u00e1ticos (CIEM) in beautiful Castro Urdiales, Spain<\/strong>.\u00a0 The event (originally planned for Sept 7-12, 2020 and later rescheduled to June 2021) has now sadly been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic<\/strong>.\u00a0 For those who had applied to participate, you will be the first to know if we are able to plan something similar in the near future.<\/p>\n

The summer school would have consisted of short introductory courses followed by more advanced courses on current topics in the area.\u00a0 It was to be open to all early-career researchers with even a vague interest in representation theory.\u00a0 We especially encouraged masters and Ph.D. students at all levels to attend and anticipated providing accommodation for them.<\/p>\n

There will be two 4-hour introductory courses introducing representations and block theory from two different perspectives and discussing the relationship between the two:<\/p>\n
