1. Logical Validity – Credible premises that make the argument valid
2. Logical Strength – Credible premises that make the argument strong
3. Step 1: Find the premises and the conclusion
4. Step 2: Is it deductive? Conclusive
5. Step 3: Is it inductive? Probable
6. Step 4: Does it fail to offer conclusive or probable support?

Diagram the Argument

1. Find indicator words
2. Number all the statements
3. Wavy line under the conclusion
4. Cross out extraneous statements (neither a premise or a conclusion statement)
5. Diagram the argument.
