Students are expected to be aware of any additional course policies presented by the instructor during the course.<\/p>\n<h3>Office Hours:<\/h3>\n<p>Monday thru Thursday\u00a011am-12:30 pm, or by appointment<\/p>\n<h3>Learning Objectives:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Upon successful completion of MTH 1110 College Algebra, the student should be able to do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Solve linear, quadratic, and other nonlinear equations and be able to graph the solutions, using pencil and paper as well as the graphics calculator.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize equations and graphs involving the conic sections.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize graphs and properties of functions and their inverses and interpret data involving graphs.<\/li>\n<li>Perform operations and procedures on polynomials, rational expressions, and numbers (real and complex).<\/li>\n<li>Use exponential and logarithmic functions in practical applications.<\/li>\n<li>Solve systems of equations using two and three variables by various methods, including the graphic calculator.<\/li>\n<li>Perform factorial notations and the binomial expansion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Major Assignments\/Exams:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Midterm Exam(s)&#8211;20%<\/li>\n<li>Final Exam&#8211;25%<\/li>\n<li>Attendance\/participation&#8211;10%<\/li>\n<li>Daily Homework&#8211;20%<\/li>\n<li>Quizzes&#8211;25%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Daily assignments:<\/h3>\n<p>You can find the daily assignments at<a href=\"http:\/\/sites.msudenver.edu\/collegealgebraflip\/\"> http:\/\/sites.msudenver.edu\/collegealgebraflip\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Required Reading:<\/h3>\n<p>TEXT: Michael Sullivan, College Algebra, 10th Edition, plus MyMathLab with eText, Pearson, (2016).
