Office Hours:<\/h3>\n

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday the hour before class or by appointment<\/p>\n

Major Assignments\/Exams:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. There will be three hour exams each worth 100 points. The exams will be given on thursday of the second, fourth, and sixth week of the semester.\u00a0 If an hour exam is missed the score will be zero. NO MAKE UP EXAMS ARE GIVEN!<\/li>\n
  2. There will be a comprehensive final worth 200 points.<\/li>\n
  3. A Gateway Exam will be given in this class. The first time it is given it will be worth 100 points toward your grade. You must pass this exam with a 90 percent to pass this class.<\/li>\n
  4. Regular HOMEWORK <\/strong>will be assigned and checked daily. The assignments will be checked during the class period on the day they are due. Each assignment is worth two points. <\/strong>Only a \u201creasonable\u201d try is necessary for credit (just copying the answers is not <\/em>a reasonable try). Save all your assignments so that at the end we can make certain that your records agree with mine. In class assignments\/work will also be assigned and graded on a 2 point scale.<\/li>\n
  5. GRADING SCALE: 90-100 = A, 80-89 = B, 70-79 = C, 60-69 = D, 0-59 = F.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Required Reading:<\/h3>\n

    TEXT: Briggs, Cochran, and Gillett Calculus for Scientists and Engineers \u2013Early Transcendentals<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Optional: Student Solutions Manual,
    \nGraphing Calculator: A TI-84 Plus (or TI-83 or equivalent) graphing calculator is required for this course.<\/p>\n
