JOOEUN PAK, Pianist<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hailed as a \u201cprofoundly musical artist with poetic temperament with exceptionally expressive and communicative gifts and highly accomplished technique<\/i>,\u201d JOOEUN PAK has appeared in major concert venues as a soloist, chamber musician, and a champion of contemporary music giving performances in major cities in the U.S., Korea, Italy, Jordan, and Germany including Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, NY, Terrace Theatre in Kennedy Center in D.C, Armstrong hall in Torrance, Bennet Gordon hall in Ravinia, Al Hussein Cultural Center in Jordan, Theatre Vipiteno in Sterzing and was featured in Chicago radio station WFMT.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Being a winner of a number of national and international competitions, Pak is also a highly demanded collaborative pianist and a chamber musician, appearing in concerts with winners of the renowned international competitions, including the Metropolitan National Council Audition, and the Tchaikovsky International Competition. She formerly worked as a collaborative pianist in Ravinia Steans Music Institute, and Indiana University String Academy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pak is a passionate advocate of creative interdisciplinary projects while actively commissioning and giving world premiers of compositions of our time. Her extensive collaboration with leading living composers including the world premier of \u201cRabble Rouser\u2026 for Jooeun Pak<\/i>\u201d by Don Freund has also distinguished her as a highly versatile pianist over the past decade. Upon winning the Grand Prize in the Latin American Music Competition, Pak released a CD featuring compositions by Latin American contemporary composers including Gabriela Lena Frank and Miguel del Aguila, with a violinist Colin Sorgi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pak was formerly a full-time lecturer in piano in Towson Univ., Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano in the Univ. of Puget Sound, Associate Instructor in Indiana Univ., Jacobs School of Music, Performing Artist and Faculty in Orfeo Music Festival, and a Music Faculty in American Academy of Jordan Summer Music Festival. Pak has given master classes nationally and internationally, and was heard in National Conservatory of Music in Amman, and Stetson University, Western Connecticut State University and Biola University Conservatory of Music this season. Pak is currently an Assistant Professor of Piano and a Director of Keyboard Studies at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Pak\u2019s student have been recognized as winners of a number of competitions including MTNA state competition, Steinway competition, MSU Denver concerto competition. In year 2017, she was awarded Steinway\u2019s Top Teacher\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n

Pak received DM in Piano Performance and Literature with minors in theory and chamber music under the mentorship of distinguished professor Manahem Pressler, a founder of the renowned Beaux Art Trio, to whom she also served as a teaching assistant. Pak\u2019s study was supported by Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Doctoral Fellowship, which was awarded for academic and performance excellence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
