{"id":102,"date":"2015-02-23T19:44:53","date_gmt":"2015-02-23T19:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theorylovespractice.weebly.com\/blog\/spring-sketchbook-experiementation"},"modified":"2015-02-23T19:44:53","modified_gmt":"2015-02-23T19:44:53","slug":"spring-sketchbook-experiementation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.msudenver.edu\/theorylovespractice\/2015\/02\/23\/spring-sketchbook-experiementation\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Sketchbook Experiementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"paragraph\" style=\"text-align:left\">We will take 4 sessions to focus on the&nbsp;sketchbook&nbsp;as a research document, a home for the rituals of making and an expansive documentation of learning.&nbsp;You can drop in on any session this spring without feeling that you have missed anything.&nbsp; Each session can stand on its own.<br \/>Each sessions will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sharing sample student&nbsp;sketchbooks<\/li>\n<li>participating in a variety of&nbsp;sketchbook&nbsp;practices taught by peers<\/li>\n<li>reflecting on the process of student thinking and making the thinking visible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The sessions will be guided by these principles highlighted in Making Thinking Visible:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identifying Patterns and Making Generalizations<\/li>\n<li>Generating Possibilities and Alternatives<\/li>\n<li>Evaluating Evidence, Arguments and Actions<\/li>\n<li>Formulating Plans and Monitoring Actions<\/li>\n<li>Identifying Claims, Assumptions and Bias<\/li>\n<li>Clarifying Priorities, Conditions and What is Known<\/li>\n<p><\/ol>\n<p>We need your help moving forward!<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph\" style=\"text-align:left\">Our March session will be led by a few of you. We are looking for 2 volunteers to lead a sketchbook exercise that addresses one or both of these elements of learning from Making Learning Visible:<\/p>\n<p>1.Evaluating Evidence, Arguments and Actions<br \/>2.Formulating Plans and Monitoring Actions<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you have a really great way to encourage research or planning?
