We are back! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It’s been two and half years since we last gathered and it was so good to be together. Please join us at our next meeting, Nov. 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tonight we started to brainstorm about a collaborative artwork that we will be making for an exhibit based on the theme of education at the Center for Visual Art this summer. The exhibit will be organized as “I Do, We Do, You Do.” If you missed this Wednesday, you can jump into the work at any of our meetings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I DO<\/span> <\/span>The CVA will invite artists who work with the theme of education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WE DO<\/span> Theory Love Practice will create a collaborative work for the exhibit.<\/span><\/p>\n

YOU DO <\/span>The exhibit will also jury artwork from the community based on the theme.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here is what we started on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

WE ASKED QUESTIONS<\/span><\/p>\n

First we clarified the theme of the work, by thinking about our experiences as teachers. We framed our ideas through questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why hasn\u2019t the system changed? When life has changed so dramatically.<\/span><\/p>\n

When will we rethink education and actually apply what we\u2019ve learned kids need?<\/span><\/p>\n

When will this PD (from school) actually apply to what I do, and what the kids need?<\/span><\/p>\n

What does good Professional Development look like?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can Administration support teachers?<\/span><\/p>\n

Why can\u2019t we change?<\/span><\/p>\n

What do we need now?<\/span><\/p>\n

Who\u2019s succeeding now?<\/span><\/p>\n

Take risks and get out of the perfection bubble.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aging out of relevance. The quality of state of being closely connected or appropriate<\/span><\/p>\n

Where is the Love?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can we categorize kids without using numbers?<\/span><\/p>\n

Could we remove the language of not Meeting, Approaching, Effective and Distinguished?<\/span><\/p>\n

When is the 4 day school week going to begin in Denver?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is this sustainable?<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do we keep going?<\/span><\/p>\n

Why is this year going so well?<\/span><\/p>\n

Will it get better?<\/span><\/p>\n

When can I retire?<\/span><\/p>\n

When will I be paid enough to survive in Denver?<\/span><\/p>\n

What can be done to help Colorado teacher\u2019s afford to live in Colorado?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can we keep teachers in the profession?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is this where I\u2019ll be for the next 20 years?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can I do this better, so it goes more smoothly?<\/span><\/p>\n

Why does it feel like I\u2019m giving my all and doing my best, but it\u2019s still not enough?<\/span><\/p>\n

Do I need to teach part time and do something else part time?<\/span><\/p>\n

What am I sacrificing?<\/span><\/p>\n

How many more years can I do this?<\/span><\/p>\n

What can we take off of teacher\u2019s plates?<\/span><\/p>\n

How do we meet our students’ needs?<\/span><\/p>\n

What can we do to be better equipped to meet students’ current needs?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can the burnout be diffused? How can you move off the plateau?<\/span><\/p>\n

How can students really<\/strong> understand the objective?<\/span><\/p>\n

Do I need to simplify this lesson more?<\/span><\/p>\n

How are we holding students accountable?<\/span><\/p>\n

How does mental health get acknowledged?<\/span><\/p>\n

How do we support good Mental Health for teachers, students and each other?<\/span><\/p>\n
