Leveraging the appeal of graphic novels to teach students an impactful way to interact with artwork proves to be fruitful indeed. The conversation that stemmed from using this method of inquiry was rich, candid, and on topic, leading me to believe that there may be something to this OPTIC investigation.<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td class=\"wsite-multicol-col\" style=\"width:58.699009781831%;padding:0 15px\">\n<div class=\"paragraph\" style=\"text-align:left\">This method of investigation was presented by Diane . At her school the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.avid.org\/what-is-avid-secondary.ashx\" title=\"\"> AVID&nbsp;<\/a>program, a socratic based teaching method, is utilized to benefit students that need assistance succeeding in our education system. We were presented with the OPTIC method of interacting with artworks. Leveraging the tech and machines that draw today&#8217;s students in, Jody has evolved the sketchbook for her digital media students. &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph\" style=\"text-align:justify\">&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8220;Digital idea journals can help make art-making more meaningful. Jody relayed sites that she uses with her students:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/padlet.com\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">Padlet<\/a>&nbsp;lets you create walls of text and image as you research online, just drag and drop.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visualthesaurus.com\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">Visual thesaurus<\/a>&nbsp;presents word definitions in a fun, playful manner.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/weebly.com\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">Weebly <\/a>is a user-friendly site builder, from blogs to digital galleries.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/jodychapel\/\" title=\"\">Pinterest<\/a> is an easy way to collect and organize all those interesting things we come across while searching online.<br \/>Inkflow is an app that combines digital drawing, touch-screen writing, and digital images into one powerful digital journal.<br \/>I&#8217;m sure there are others out there we&#8217;re not familiar with, so let us know&#8230;<\/div>\n<hr style=\"width:100%;clear:both\"><\/hr>\n<div>\n<div class=\"wsite-multicol\">\n<div class=\"wsite-multicol-table-wrap\" style=\"margin:0 -15px\">\n<table class=\"wsite-multicol-table\">\n<tbody class=\"wsite-multicol-tbody\">\n<tr class=\"wsite-multicol-tr\">\n<td class=\"wsite-multicol-col\" style=\"width:43.790849673203%;padding:0 15px\">\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\" style=\"text-align:left\">NAEA in nola<\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\" style=\"text-align:left\">A few of our members went to NAEA in New Orleans (jealous) and had many wonderful things to say about the conference and the city.
