David Farwig is happy to be a part of the Choral Celebration at MSU Denver again this year. Although he maintains an active career as a professional concert vocalist, Dr. Farwig continues to immerse himself in choral conducting and education, at the professional and amateur level. He has served as conductor, clinician and consultant for various types of choirs including high school, college, community and church choirs, as well as guest appearances with professional ensembles, including the US Air Force Singing Sergeants in Washington DC, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir here in Denver. Dr. Farwig was the graduate Assistant Conductor of Conservatory Choirs at the University of Missouri’s Conservatory of Music and Dance in Kansas City, where he also completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting. In addition, he served on the faculty of the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, where he taught undergraduate and graduate choral conducting classes. Dr. Farwig currently lives in southeast Denver and is the director of the Chancel Choir at Park Hill United Methodist Church.
