To my dismay you must have forgotten
That I am nothing but a mere robot,
Built with red and blue wires and bolts.
Look close to my skin and you can see them.
Touch me and remember,   feel the cold that I emit,
Then compare it to the warmth of your lover.
I’ve heard that it feels like a piece of sunlight,
The one that beams through a crack in the blinds.

I cannot recall where I had heard it from,
Perhaps due to my slow motor and clunky screws,
Or the sparking cords in my chest from the time I tried water.
I apologize if I take too long to answer,   it’s hard to think
With this broken clock in my throat,
Ticking louder and faster with each second.
