It can be hard to juggle being a student on top of possibly also being an employee, a sibling, a child, a parent, a friend, etc. The resources below might help you with your academics and physical and mental health.

Academics

  • MSU Denver Math Department Tutoring Center: Free walk-in tutoring services located in Science 1046. Visit the link for the current schedule. Be sure to bring your notes, computer, and homework problems with you so they can help you more efficiently.

  • MSU Denver Tutoring Center: (Schedule for Math here): Free tutoring in Student Success Building 220. Contact them for more information.

  • Online tutoring is available through BrainFuse. To get started, login to Blackboard and click on “Online Tutoring” in the upper right corner. (For step-by-step help: HowtouseBrainfuse)

  • MSU Denver Writing Center : They can help with all stages of a writing project from brainstorming to final proofreading. They can help with the writing, grammar, and spelling part of the final paper.

  • Access Center: “The Access Center serves students with either temporary or permanent physical, health, learning, sensory or mental health disabilities. We collaborate with students and faculty to provide accommodations, services and access to academic programs.”

  • Microsoft Office Download Instructions. MSU Denver students get free access to Microsoft Office.

  • OpenDyslexic. An open source font that may be helpful in improving readability.

Health and Other “Life Stuff”

  • MSU Denver Counseling Center: Free for MSU Denver Students! No problem is too big or small. “Balancing the demands of college life can be difficult. In addition to academic requirements, there are financial pressures, relationship issues, and job stressors that can leave you feeling beat up and worn out. The Counseling Center staff can help you find ways to manage difficult times and provide you with a comforting place to examine your life and learn more about yourself so you can realize your potential. Students are encouraged to make an appointment for their first visit.”
  • MSU Denver Food Bank: Available to current MSU Denver students; just bring your ID! Their website also has some links to community resources as well.
  • Immigrant Services: Academic and social support program that aims to increase enrollment, retention, and graduation of undocumented, DACA, immigrant, and refugee students.

  • LGBTQ Student Resource CenterThe LGBTQ Student Resource Center, as a tri-institutional student fee-funded department, strives to improve the campus climate for LGBTQIA students by: fostering acceptance and understanding by educating the campus community about issues related to this population and developing programming which unites diverse communities of people, and providing support services and growth opportunities for LGBTQIA students to realize their fullest potential.
  • Phoenix Center at Auraria: Free and confidential resources and assistance to survivors of interpersonal violence (relationship violence, sexual violence, and stalking), as well as their friends, families, and concerned others.
  • Brother to Brother (B2B): A Center for Equity and Student Achievement (CESA) program which empowers men of color through mentorship, academic support, and programming to thrive at MSU Denver and to graduate equipped to serve as campus and community leaders.
  • Institute for Women’s Studies and Services: All genders welcome! SAFE SPACE. Academic and holistic support for students targeted by sexism and other intersecting oppressions.  
  • Health Center at Auraria: The Health Center at Auraria offers comprehensive medical and mental health services. All current students, faculty and staff on the Auraria Campus are eligible for medical services.
