Service activities

I am actively engaged in a number of service activities.  I am passionate about supporting MSU Denver’s mission “to provide a high-quality, accessible, enriching education that prepares students for successful careers, post-graduate education, and lifelong learning in a multicultural, global, and technological society.”  The Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences mission “to provide a complete learning environment in which students from a diverse urban population can gain, at the undergraduate level, a thorough understanding of current theories and practices in Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Probability and Statistics, and Computer Science” is also in direct support of the larger university mission.  My various service activities are all focused around supporting our students and advancing the university’s goal of being the premier undergraduate institution in the state of Colorado.

Calculus Committee

I am on the Calculus Committee.  We meet periodically to discuss the content of the Calculus sequence, which, in our department, consists of: Calculus: I limits, continuity, derivatives, antiderivatives and the FTOC with applications; Calculus II: integration techniques, sequences and series, various tests for convergence Calculus III: parametric equations, graphing in 3D, vectors, vector Calculus, …
