I am a senator representing the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences. Every other Wednesday, the Faculty Senate meets to discuss issues related to courses, university budgets and other items necessary to the general operation of the university. This is a two-year appointment, one that has given me tremendous insight into the operations of the university and the importance of being an actively engaged faculty member.
