Jour 2 -Quels aspects de la culture? et Introduction au Maroc

This class period is devoted to clarifying notions of cultural analysis and to creating student-generated lists of products, practices and perspectives of interest. Students will then see examples of products and practices that point towards underlying values in France and the US.

Students will be “walked through” the cultural analysis of what we call a “scene” photo, usually a street scene, but in fact, any scene where there are several concrete cultural elements visible and which students can then analyze.
Students will begin learning basic information about Morocco, including the French colonial influence and use of French in Morocco today.
