Upcoming 2023 MSU Denver Online Training from the Social Work Department:
The Social Work Department offers specific training for online and hybrid instructors targeting online design and delivery specific to Social Work competencies. These trainings are offered every semester to help support and develop our online and hybrid instructors. Online 101 is required of all new online and/or Hybrid instructors prior (or soon there after) to teaching an online course in our department. It is also required that you take a training addressing how to navigate our learning management system called Canvas. Please see below for upcoming training opportunities.

We are planning on offering support and training for faculty in a variety of ways as we prepare for Spring/Summer/Fall 2023. Although we hope course preparation this semester will be less stressful than it was for fall, we still want faculty to know they have opportunities to connect with the online team on a regular basis:
Canvas Work Sessions. These are offered before every semester to help you import your course and get everything set up for your students. It’s a party! Come learn and hang out with your peers as you prepare your course.
Online 101 Trainings. For those faculty members who are new to teaching in the department, or who didn’t have the chance to participate in the Online 101 training for fall semester, please come join us for Spring. The Basic 101 is for those new to online teaching. The 101 refresher is for those who have taught online before, but didn’t do the 101 training. Remember, if you attended a 101 training , you are NOT required to attend again.
Synchronous Trainings. Because our department is offering synchronous Zoom sessions for “face-to-face” and hybrid course offerings again this semester, we will also be hosting a training about how to effectively use your synchronous time.

Online Teaching Seminar Series: This is a weekly Wednesday gathering where we will learn and discuss a different online teaching and design topic each Wednesday during the semester. RSVP Here
