MSU Denver Housing

Our urban location, functioning as a commuter campus, offers numerous housing options for students. Deciding on the perfect housing arrangement is crucial, especially for those considering financial aid. To assist in this decision-making process, it’s important to plan for securing housing and factor in the monthly rent as part of the overall cost of living.

Students are encouraged to carefully consider what living situation will best contribute to their success at MSU Denver. For those who find staying at home a viable option, it is certainly welcomed. For students interested in relocating but unsure where to begin their search, we recommend exploring the following options:

  • Lynx Crossing - Lynx Crossing is the only on campus affiliated traditional student housing option. Lynx is owned and operated by our neighbor CU Denver. Spots are limited and fill up quickly. Access to the application and floor plans are on the website. Students must be enrolled in classes to remain in Lynx Crossing.
  • Student Friendly Apartments - private apartments are available to MSU Denver students for one-year leases. Locations are close to MSU Denver and transportation. Please inquire with properties for availability.
  • Villas-Denver

Paying for Housing

Whether students are planning on renting an apartment or living at Lynx Crossing. Students will need to know how they plan to pay for their housing and sustain payments throughout the semester. If they live in Lynx Crossing, they will be billed semesterly through their student account.

Renting from one of the student friendly apartments will be charged monthly through the rental of choice. Students can use financial aid and scholarships to pay for their rent. They will receive a return when financial aid is disbursed at the beginning of the semester. They will need to include the cost of their total rent for the semester in the cost of living. Students will need to plan a monthly budget for payments. Here are some options to plan out your housing expenses:

  1. FASFA/CASFA
  2. Scholarships
  3. Work-study
  4. Full or part time work
  5. Student Loans

We understand that choosing the right living arrangement is a pivotal decision.  As your student embarks on this journey, remember to plan thoughtfully, considering factors such as securing housing and factoring in monthly rent within their overall cost of living.
