Accessible Transportation

MSU Denver and the Denver metro area offer multiple options for accessible transportation for people with disabilities.

Accessible Campus Parking

The campus parking lots and garages include accessible spaces. You must display a state placard or license to park in accessible spaces. You must also have a special AHEC permit to park in accessible permit spaces. Call the Parking and Transportation Center at (303) 556-2000 to purchase a permit.

Accessible Shuttle Service

Students with disabilities can schedule free rides on an accessible shuttle. Contact your Accessibility Coordinator to get a validation sticker for your campus ID. After getting your sticker, you can call (303) 556-2001 to schedule a ride. The hours are 7:30 am to 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am to 6:00 pm on Friday (during semesters).

Public Options

All RTD buses are accessible to people who use mobility aids, including wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, and crutches. Bus and rail operators are also trained to assist passengers with disabilities as they board or exit the vehicle.

If you cannot access the RTD bus and rail systems, you can consider Access-a-Ride, a ride-sharing service for people with disabilities in the Denver metro area. Applying for Access-a-Ride involves submitting an application and medical verification form; visit the Access-a-Ride website to learn more.
