Student Support

MSU Denver prides itself on providing an inclusive environment for all students. There are several support resources available to students through MSU Denver to help you.

Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office is in charge of overseeing student life, services, and on-campus activities. This can range from providing support for students in times of struggle to addressing student behavior to campus safety to ensuring a student’s rights are not infringed upon. In short, they are there to provide you with support and resources to tackle challenges.

At MSU Denver, the Dean of Students Office runs a lot of programs. Some of those programs handle student conduct (how to file a report, what to do if your conduct has been reported, what is academic misconduct, etc.), while others support students having difficult conversations and needing conflict resolution. Though you may not often wander into their office, you feel the impact of their services throughout the university. Probably the easiest way to explore and experience their support is the Student Care Center.

Student Care Center

The Student Care Center at MSU Denver provides non-clinical case management to students; basically, if you’re struggling with life, school, food, housing, mental health concerns, etc., the Student Care Center is in place to help connect you with resources and support that improve your situation.

Case managers within the Center do outreach on behalf of the CARE Team. The CARE Team is a collection of staff and professionals across campus that review Care Referrals. Any individual in the community including but not limited to staff, faculty, students, and family members can file a CARE referral for a student through an online reporting system. Care Referrals are meant to provide a mechanism for community members to report a student engaging in concerning behaviors or needing additional support related to life circumstances.

The MSU Denver Student Care Center is available for in-person walk-ins and appointments in Tivoli 311. They are also available via phone at 303-615-0006.
