If you want to pay for your tuition and fees on a monthly basis but don’t want to take out a loan, payment plans from MSU are a good option to consider. The payment plan will divide your total tuition and fees for a semester into equal payments. The payment plan will vary from a minimum of 2 months or more, depending on when you enroll. The earlier you enroll, the more time you will have to pay for your tuition, and the smaller your payments are going to be.
Important Dates
- Two months prior to the semester: Payment plans are usually available to sign up for.
- Census: the last date you can sign up for payment plans.
Costs
- If you sign up to use a payment plan at the beginning of the semester, the cost is $35 to enroll in the payment plan option. You can use a plan to pay all or part of your tuition, avoiding the high interest rates that normally come with a traditional loan.
- If you don’t sign up in advance and are enrolled in the payment plan option because your tuition payment for the semester was not received on time, there is a 4% fee. (Signing up before the semester ensures you avoid this fee.)
- There is a 1.5% monthly service charge until the balance is paid.
- Students who get a financial aid award offer, obtain certification for Military benefits with our Veteran & Military Student Services Office, or establish sponsorship, by the payment deadline, are exempt from ALL service charges.
