SPECIFIC (MEASURABLE) STUDENT BEHAVIORAL LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. To gain a better understanding of anatomy and physiology through teaching
  2. To find effective strategies for engaging students with class content during lab
  3. To develop efficient ways of facilitating student’s learning, especially through helping student’s find their own learning styles
  4. To assist professor in duties associated with laboratory classroom setting

JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Laboratory set up and clean up
  2. Help students with use of microscopes
  3. Help students with learning safe and effective lab skills
  4. Contribute to a stimulating learning environment
  5. Help instructor with lab practicals (set up, administration, clean up)
  6. Circulate among student lab groups and answer questions

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

1.Specific competencies/skills/knowledge to be developed on this job:

    1. Improve listening and communication skills with students
    2. Develop strong lab skills and improve knowledge of general biology
    3. Develop strong dissection skills and improved knowledge of anatomy and physiology

2. Formal or on-the-job training:

On the job training will be provided by the instructor but the student should have competency in anatomy and physiology from previous coursework

3. Machinery/lab equipment/written material to be used on the job:

Microscopes, anatomical models, computers and other visual aids
